

Survivors include his beloved wife Allene Ellis King and their loving dog, Jillie; sisters Margaret Davis of Calhoun, Georgia and Jean D’Amour of Tucson, Arizona; daughter Michelle Herring of Jacksonville, Florida; son James B. King, III, wife Clarrice and grandson James Benjamin King, IV of Charlotte, North Carolina; brother-in-law Robert Ellis and wife Jennie of Snellville, Georgia; sister-in-law Arlene Morey of Lake City, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and his church family members of St. Teresa’s Episcopal Church.
Jim’s proudest accomplishments were graduating from The University of the South School of Theology on May 29, 2011 and being a founding member of St. Teresa’s.
He enjoyed traveling in his R.V. with his wife and landscaping their yard at home in Marietta.
Jim owned several businesses over the years and was quite the salesman. A dear friend once stated, “When you started talking to Jim, if you weren’t happy, you would be laughing when you left.”
Services will be held at St. Teresa’s Episcopal Church, 5725 Fords Road, Acworth, on Saturday, January 14, beginning at 11:00am with the Rev. Terri Brice officiating. Interment will be at 1:30pm at Kennesaw Memorial Park, 1306 Whitlock Avenue NW, Marietta, Georgia.
