

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Laura Ellen; daughter, Bailey Elisabeth (Steve Scinto); son, Joshua Chad (Monique); stepson, Jared Ryan Israel (Angela); Stepdaughter, Sarah Kate (Lester Maddox); brothers, David Lee Yarbrough (Edith), Dan Coleman Yarbrough (Elizabeth); 10 grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, William Baker Yarbrough; mother, Wanda Coleman Yarbrough; and his son, Ryan John Yarbrough.
Larry graduated from Jenkins High School in Savannah and received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1972 and a Juris Doctorate from Woodrow Wilson College of Law in 1976. Before graduating from law school, he was a Police Officer with the Cobb County Police Department and a Computer Programmer. Larry practiced law in Marietta for 47 years. He was admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the U. S. District Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
His first position as an attorney was as a prosecutor with the Cobb County Solicitor’s Office, and he entered private practice of law in 1979.
In the early years, he practiced mostly representing persons in the area of criminal defense and domestic relations, but in his later years his law practice consisted primarily of representing children in family disputes as a Guardian ad Litem and as a family law mediator, activities he found particularly rewarding.
He enjoyed hiking, traveling, being with friends, tracing his ancestry, and watching Georgia Tech Football and Braves Baseball.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 10 AM until 12 PM Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home, 180 Church NE, Marietta, GA 30060.
Interment will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, GA
