

LOCKHART, Mildred Caldwell passed away on Thursday, January 16th, 2014 in Norfolk, Va. She was born in Bairdstown, Ga. on August 28th, 1925. She graduated from South Dekalb High School in 1943 and married Albert L. Lockhart on February 15th, 1945. They lived out their 53 married years faithfully in Marietta, Ga. She worked at Lockheed, as did Al, for more than 30 years. Mildred was a devoted sister to 10 siblings and a very loving mother to her only daughter, Patsy. She was actively involved in her church, First Christian Church of Marietta (Disciples of Christ), serving on the board and as an elder.
She was predeceased by her husband; her parents, William Melvin and Willie Mae Caldwell; her brothers, Johnny, William, Roy, Melvin Jr., Fred, and Harold; and her sisters, Janie Shirley and Winnie Mae Moore. She is survived by two brothers, Curtis and Odell, and his wife Leah; her daughter, Patsy Schutte, and her husband, Kraig W., of Norfolk, Va.; and her granddaughter, Regan Nicole Hertzler, and her husband, Carl Michael, of Virginia Beach, Va.; as well as numerous nephews and nieces
