A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home, Historic Marietta Chapel with Pastor Doug Huggins officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Whitten served in the Navy during the Korean War then he went to work for Lockheed Martin as a fire fighter for 41 years. He was a member of the American Legion and also a member of Mt. Paran Church but was currently attending Calvary Baptist Church in Smyrna.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Cook Whitten of Marietta; stepson, Ron Carter and his wife, Kristie of Birmingham, AL; thirteen grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Marietta.
