

Deborah Sue Holland Scott “Debbie”, 60, of Axton, went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 2, 2014 at home. She was born June 7, 1954, in Martinsville, to Stafford James Holland and Maude Brown Holland, both deceased. She held a clerical position at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County for eighteen years and was previously employed by Centel for twenty-one years. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.
Debbie loved to spend time with her family, and her grandchildren brought her so much joy. She had friends everywhere because she never met a stranger and always wore a smile.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband of thirty-seven years, James A. Scott, two daughters, Christie Lynn Scott of Winston-Salem, NC and Aimee Nicole Scott of Axton, a son, James Christopher Scott and wife, Ginnie, of Axton, a brother, Edward “Eddie” James Holland and wife, Phyllis, of Axton, two sisters, Barbara Triplett and husband, E.T., of Axton and Linda White of Martinsville, and two grandchildren, Brayden James Scott and Rylan Edward Scott.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 5, 2014 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville with Rev. George Henderson and Rev. Eugene Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Scott Family Cemetery.
