My granny, Though I knew this day would come it doesn’t make it any easier.  I have so many memories of spending the night with her and her teaching me how to cook, clean and all she taught me to be a strong woman.  The trips my pawpaw and granny took me on every Sunday, going to flea markets and Dixie pig, with her endless passenger side brakes :).  Through her life she saw many things and I could never imagine the life she led, the people she loved and those she inspired.  I’m forever thankful to her for all she did to make me the person I am today.  Fly with the angels granny until we see each other again.  

I remember when my mom was in the hospital after her stroke granny asked me to come stay with her at night. The thing is, she collected dolls at the time and I walked into my bedroom and there were at least 100 sets of eyes staring at me. I slept with the lights on and did not blink all night. Well, word got back to her that I didn't sleep that night, so the next night when I returned from the hospital there were sheets spread across the top of the dolls (so they would not be looking at me).  That's granny. Always thinking about someone else.  She always welcomed me with a big 'well, there's Jennifer'. She was always pleased to see me. I still see her smiling. She was a treasure.

I was her first boy and I was a mama's BOY from the beginning til the end. I can remember from a very early age how I loved my mother. She worked hard for us and did all she could to feed and cloth us. We were very poor with her being the only source of income for 8 kids working in a knitting mill. She would never except welfare or free lunches. She was so proud of her name as an honest person. Anyone knowing her loved her.  I learned most of my business sense from her. She was a a very good at managing money . I got so much I would love to say about my mom but it's hard to put into the words . It's  been a journey and I'm  so thankful I got to travel it with you.  I Iove you and will be missing you always as long a s I live. RIP DEAR MOM

When I was younger I remember going to stay many nights over my granny's. I remember one particular night going over there and she had Bluegrass music blasting from the TV and she tried to teach me how to flatfoot in the living room. She was feeling real good that night! 

i love you mama, no words will ever explain how I feel tonight, I cant imagine coming home and you not being there, you were the rock that held the family together, I see your smile when you seen me come through the door. no words except I will see your smiling face soon, but I hurt now, love and kisses , Wandie
