Ellen Tunnell

Ellen Spencer Tunnell, 82, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021. She was born to the late Harvey Spencer and Lera Spencer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Peggy Spencer; brother-in-law Burt Price; sister-in-law Marilyn Spencer and great granddaughter Emberly Reffett. Ellen spent most of her life working in sales. She was a member of Starling Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Chuck Tunnell (Janet) and Chris Tunnell (Jean); brother Billy Spencer and sister Judi Spencer Price; grandchildren Logan Tunnell, Casey Reffett, Whitney Plaster; great grandchildren Blake Plaster and Aurora Reffett. Ellen loved making crafts. She was exceptional at making bows, wreaths and flower arrangements. She also enjoyed going to the beach, traveling and going to yard sales. Memorials may be made to the Starling Avenue Baptist Church, 923 Starling Ave. Martinsville, VA 24112. A private ceremony will be held and a celebration of her life service will be held at a later date.
