

Frances Lovell Prillaman, 88, of King’s Grant Retirement Community in Martinsville, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at King’s Grant, where she had been a resident for the past 8 years. She was born in the Snow Creek Community of Franklin County on April 4, 1923 to Charlie Cleveland Lovell and Lillie Jamison Lovell. She was a 1940 graduate of Snow Creek High School where she was valedictorian of her class. Frances was a long-time resident of Martinsville where she was associated with Prillaman and Pace, Inc. as bookkeeper for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Martinsville and the Mary Kirk Bible Class. She was a Red Cross Volunteer, a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was also involved in numerous activities and committees at King’s Grant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Richard Allen Prillaman; Granddaughter, Andrea Marie King, Son-In-Law, Robert Andre` King; Siblings, Allie Anderson, Emma Anderson, Lewis Lovell, Marshall Lovell and William Lovell.
She is survived by a daughter, Judith Prillaman King and Jim Murray;a son, Richard Allen (Dick) Prillaman, Jr. and wife, Deborah, all of Martinsville; seven grandchildren, Katherine Frances King of Staunton, VA, Ann Livingston King of Charlotte, NC, Sarah King Capps and Robert Allen King, of Martinsville, Sarah May Prillaman of Rocky Mount, Elizabeth Marie Prillaman and Rachel Prillaman Pilson of Martinsville; four great-grandchildren, Abigail Kiracofe, Sienna King, Elena King and Isla King.
A memorial service will be held Monday, August 8, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Martinsville with Dr. Dennis Knight and the Rev. John Fulcher officiating. A memorial service will also be held Monday at 3:00 P.M. at King’s Grant Victory Chapel with the Rev. Paul Johnson and the Rev. Randy Stevens officiating. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Martinsville, 23 Starling Avenue, Martinsville, VA 24112 or to King’s Grant Fellowship Fund, 350 Kings Way, Martinsville, VA 24112.
The family wishes to express appreciation to her special caregivers, Carolyn Oliver, Linda Green and Shirley Davis, her physicians, Dr. Caren Aaron and Dr. Jim Isernia and to the King’s Grant staff with special recognition of the entire nursing staff.
