Irene Martin Pugh

Irene Martin Beasley Pugh, 92, of Martinsville, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville. She was born in Pittsylvania County, April 17, 1925 to Lemon George Martin and Eva Amos Martin. Irene retired from DuPont after 35 years of service and was a member of Chatham Heights Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Woody Beasley, and her second husband, John Pugh.
Surviving are two sisters, Peggy Martin Petty of Danville, and Lois Ann Martin of Clarksville; a step-grandson, Johnathan Childress of Roanoke and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chatham Heights Christian Church, 4020 Sunset Dr., Martinsville, VA 24112.
A visitation will be held Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home, 109 Broad St., Martinsville, VA.
The funeral service will be held Monday, at 2:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home with interment to follow at Roselawn Burial Park.

So sorry to hear of this. Irene was a very classy lady, and very loving. I know she was so special to Linda Amos Gardner, and will be missed greatly.

Irene was a great lady her brother Marshall married my daddys sister and we used to see her at their house.
