Irene Young (Renie) Harris, 89, of Martinsville, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She was born in Henry, VA on March 5, 1923 to Denver Bryen Young and Emily Mae Sink Young. She was a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church and attended Clearview Wesleyan Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Clyde Young.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin C. Harris of the home; one daughter, Faye H. Martin of Martinsville; four sisters, Alice Cook, Billie Nance and Fern Setliff, all of Danville and Selma Lakey of Apotopka, Florida; two grandchildren, Kathy Holthausen and Alvin Hundley, both of Martinsville; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Taylor Holthausen
The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
