Jack Randolph Covington, 69, of Ridgeway, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Henry County, on August 8, 1940 to John G. and Fannie Bateman Covington. He graduated from Drewry Mason High School and Bluefield College and served in the Army. He retired from Bassett Furniture Industries after 36 years, where he was Quality Control Manager.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John G. Covington, Jr. and Billie Warren Covington.
He is survived by a daughter, Tammy C. Nagem and husband Matthew of High Point, NC; two sisters, Peggy C. MaCall of Richmond and Jane C. Hargreaves of Tullahoma, TN; one brother, Judge Kenneth M. Covington of Martinsville.
A graveside service will be held Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway with the Rev. Richard Harrison officiating.
Memorials may be made to Ridgeway Rescue Squad.
