

Jesse Alvin Mabry, 80, of 70 Evening Star Lane, Martinsville, VA died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in Rockingham County, NC. He was born in Reidsville, NC on January 18, 1934 to Fredrick Ray Mabry and Selma Cora Huff Mabry.
He was a member of Starling Avenue Baptist Church.
Jesse was a 60 plus year veteran of the towing industry which included time spent with Trio Towing in Florida, Burroughs-White Chevrolet and Mitchell-Howell Ford. He was most prominently known around Martinsville as the owner and operator of Jesse’s 23 1/3 Hrs. Towing Service, a title he held for 43 years.
In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by four brothers, Alton Ray Mabry, Lee Roy Mabry, Elmer Rudd Mabry and Milfred Mabry, and two sisters Elizabeth Mabry and Diane Mabry.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Kay Crist Mabry of the home, four daughters, Jessica Lynn Mabry of the home, Kimberly Mabry Draper and son-in-law, Steve, of Ridgeway, Yavonne Gail Rodriguez of Greensboro, NC, and Deborah Alvarez of Reidsville, NC, a brother, Frederick Pete Mabry of Hollywood, FL, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11:00AM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville Chapel, with the Rev. Susan Spangenberg officiating and Rev. Ed Spencer, pianist. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and other times at the home.
