John Jacob Astor Sanders, Jr., 64, of Stanleytown, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Martinsville, March 12, 1948 to John Jacob Astor Sanders, Sr. and Geneva McDaniel Sanders. He was a 1966 graduate of Martinsville High School and served in the Army from 1968 to 1970. He was a self-employed contractor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Doss.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Hunter Sanders of the residence; one daughter, Angela Morris of Martinsville, four sisters, Barbara Ashby, Marie Hollandsworth, Doris Sanders and Betty Yeatts, all of Martinsville; one brother, Jerry Sanders of Martinsville; two grandchildren, Jessica and Justin Morris.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 1:00 pm at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 27, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at McKee-Stone Funeral Home and other times at 1213 Knollwood Place in Martinsville.
