Josephine Lee Carter

Josephine Lee Stiles Carter, 86, of Martinsville, Virginia, died on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Trinity Mission of Rocky Mount, VA. She was born in Henry County on August 4, 1928 to Versa Stiles and Minnie DeWitt Stiles. Mrs. Carter was also preceded in death by her husband Douglas Carter.

Mrs. Carter was retired from E. I. DuPont with over thirty-eight years of service and she was a member of Victory Baptist Church and attended Clearview

Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Charles M. Pedigo of Lehigh Acres, FL, Gary Pedigo and wife, Pat of Martinsville, VA and Rick Pedigo and Lisa Parson of Pine Hall, NC; her half-sister, Sara Bramlette of Reidsville, NC ; her granddaughters, Callie Pedigo and Michelle Vaughn and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will be held Friday, July 31, 2015 at 2:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home with David Naff and Ron Gardner officiating and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 132 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, VA 24112.
