Leona Pierce Gauldin

.Leona Pierce Gauldin, 93, of Ridgeway, died Monday, January 9, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. She was born in Davie County, NC on May 11, 1918 to Nathan and Dora Bell Stroud Pierce. She retired from the former Martinsville Wholesale Outlet and was a member of Society Baptist Church in Mocksville, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Harry Gauldin; a son, Harry Wayne Gauldin; one sister, Doris Pierce; two brothers, Buck and Marvin Pierce.

She is survived by a daughter, Lynn G. Wright and husband Bobby of Ridgeway; one sister, Mary Shields of Eden, NC; one sister-in-law, Ora Lawson of Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren, George Richard Gauldin II, Kerry Taylor and husband Jonathan; Kelly Herrel and Cody Michael Wright; two great-grandchildren, Richard Wayne Gauldin and Lane Blake Taylor.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home with the Rev. Curt Ashley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway.
