Margaret Barker Harper

Margaret Barker Harper, 83, of Charlottesville, Virginia, died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville. She was born in Henry County on May 23, 1927 to Gilbert F. Barker, Sr. and Bessie Hundley Barker. She was a graduate of Martinsville High School and attended Madison College.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Harper and a brother, Gilbert F. Barker, Jr.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles B. Harper of the residence in Charlottesville; three daughters, Mary H. Turner of Springfield, GA, Charlotte Harper of Charlottesville and Meg Harper of Salt Lake City, Utah; one son, Blain Harper of Charlottesville; five grandchildren, Audrey Turner, Amy Turner, Austin Hall, Matthew Harper and Paul Harper.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville Chapel with Minister David Cuthbertson officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Collins-McKee-Stone, Martinsville Chapel.
