Mildred Goins Dalton

Mildred Goins Dalton, 89, of Ridgeway, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Martinsville. She was born in Henry County, February 1, 1924 to William Arthur Goins and Callie Cobbler Goins. She graduated from Ridgeway High School and retired from DuPont. Mildred was a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgeway.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Alvin “Big A” Dalton; four brothers, William, Billie Wayne, Junior and Jimmy Goins.

She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie D. Smith of Ridgeway; one son, Ronnie Ray Dalton and wife Teresa of Ridgeway; five grandchildren, Dustin Bullock, Jay Dalton, Brenton Smith, Melanie Turner , and Rodney Nichols; four great-grandchildren, Ashlee Turner, Hunter Nichols, Aly and Macy Deal and soon to be, “Baby D”; three sisters, Gladys Fulcher of Michigan, Virginia Wright of Ridgeway and Frances Jefferson of Rocky Mount; four brothers, Elmer and Bob Goins of Eden, NC, Lewis and Connie Goins of Ridgeway.

The funeral service will be held Monday, December 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville with the Rev. Ray Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at McKee-Stone.
