Patsy Smith

Patsy Lovelace Smith ,of Martinsville, died Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Blue Ridge Manor. She was born in Martinsville on December 26, 1930 to James B. and Erma Wood Lovelace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Barry W. Lovelace.

She was a lifelong resident of Martinsville, she graduated from Martinsville High School and attended James Madison University. She was a third generation member of Broad Street Christian Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and was active in the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was a sustaining member of the Charity League of Martinsville.

Patsy is survived by her husband, Rayford B. Smith of the home, two daughters, Dr. Karla Diehl of Cumberland, MD and Jill Bell and husband David of Doylestown, PA, four grandchildren, Jeffrey Hildreth and wife Melanie of Herndon, VA, Gregory Hildreth and wife Meghan of Cumberland, MD, Katie Bell and Ava Bell of Doylestown, PA, two great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Charles Hildreth.

The funeral service will be held Monday, February 16, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Broad Street Christian Church with Rev. Mark Parkinson officiating. There will be a private interment ceremony.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 15, 2015, from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Broad Street Christian Church, 106 Broad Street, Martinsville, VA 24112
