

Mrs. Sarah Barringer Martin, most loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at her home with the family in Bermuda Run, NC, February 13, 2025. Since becoming a grandmother, she has been known as Lolly to most everyone she met. The love she shared with her friends, family and especially her husband will be everlasting. She was much loved by those who knew her and will be remembered for her strong faith, character and virtues.
Sarah was born May 30, 1937, in Salisbury, NC. She was preceded in death by her father, Bevan Kyle and mother, Catherine Barringer and sister, Catherine (Katie) Williams.
Sarh is survived by her husband, Bob; their children, Rob, Ellen (Gary) and Catherine (Steve); and her six beautiful grandchildren, John Robert (Madison), Alex, Philip, Catherine (JJ), Patrick and Joseph along with their two grandsons, Luka and Lleyton. She is also survived by her brother BK Barringer and his wife Laura, and her sister, Frances Gamewell.
She graduated from Elon College with a degree in Mathematics and Elementary Education. She married Bob, the love of her life, in 1960. They raised their children in Charlotte NC. Sarah held a strong bond with her family and was blessed with friendships that lasted a lifetime. She had a true gift for guidance, a love for national history and enjoyed fine cooking, always being a gracious host. Sarah was a force! She touched the lives of most everyone she met, building strong bonds that last a lifetime.
The Worship of and Witness to the Resurrection to honor Sarah Martin will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 1 at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home Chapel, 109 Broad Street, Martinsville, VA 24112. The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm.
