Violet Sawanaiewski Tenney, 97, of Martinsville, died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center where she was a resident. She was born in Kentucky, May 27, 1916 to the late Antonio and Annie Weglicka Sawanaiewski. She retired from A and P Grocery and was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy R. Sprinkle and Linda Tenney, both of Martinsville; one sister, Florence Rawlings of Nitro, WV; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Christ Episcopal Church in Martinsville.
Friends may call at the home of her daughter, Nancy at 1807 East Church St., Apt. 806 or Linda at Blue Ridge Rehab Center, Room 249.
Interment will be private.
