Bruce was a beloved and longtime partner to Sandy. He was a dear father to Wesley Pettinger, Rachel (John) Doebler, and the late Blaine Pettinger. He was a proud grandfather to Shelbie Bouck, Kylie Doebler, and Duncan Doebler, and a great-grandfather to Luciano. Bruce was a caring brother to Ron (Marsha) Pettinger and John (Virginia) Pettinger, and a brother-in-law to Marsha Pettinger. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and relatives. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
A hard-working and humorous, God loving individual, Bruce was a master electrician who retired from General Motors after roughly 25 years of service. He was also a business owner, having co-founded J-Mar Electric with his brother Steven. Bruce had a lifelong passion for playing the banjo and was a member of a Gospel bluegrass band, Bluegrass Revival. He enjoyed attending the Charlotte Bluegrass Festival and often picked music with family and many friends. Bruce loved to travel with his partner Sandy to Louisiana and was always working with his hands, staying busy. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
