Dick John Breedveld

Dick John Breedveld, from Mason, MI, age 81, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2020.

Dick was born in Kalamazoo, MI the son of Dick Breedveld, Sr, and Leona Breedveld. Dick graduated from Holland High School, then attended Western Michigan University, where he met the love of his life. Dick married Sue (Dancer) in 1966 and they enjoyed 46 wonderful years together raising their 3 daughters.

Dick worked in retail the majority of his life. Starting out working for Totes, then owning his own business, Breedveld’s in Milan, MI. He then went on to join the Dancer’s company, moving the family to Mason, MI in 1984. Dick enjoyed tennis, sailing, hunting with friends, and most of all golf.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Leona, and his wife, Sue. He is survived by his daughters, Jamie Filipiak, Cindy Breedveld, and Penny (Andy) Hughes; his brother, Jim (Linda) Breedveld; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his extended family, Doug ( Luanne) Dancer, Dennis Dancer; many nieces, nephews, and some very close, amazing friends.

Dick was most proud of his family. He very much missed his wife in recent years, but couldn’t wait to tell others about his daughters. He is very blessed to have had family and friends that supported him and spent time with him over the years, both in Michigan and Marco Island, FL.

No services are planned at this time. A celebration of his life will be held sometime in the future.
