Donald "Don" C. Scutt

Donald C. Scutt passed away on January 29, 2016 at the age of 84. He was the son of Carl W. Scutt and Ida B. (Combs) Scutt. Don was a resident of the Aurelius/Onondaga area for all of his life. He served in the Michigan National Guard for 12 years. Don was a member of the Aurelius Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Don was very good with his hands. He was the best wood worker and tile man and was very gifted with his skills. Don was always helping anyone who needed assistance and had a great sense of humor. He also loved to travel, especially to Alaska. Don was preceded in death by his parents, and brother; Richard Scutt. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years; Jean Scutt; daughters, Dy (Ron) Clark, and Melody (Matt) Bennett; son, Don (Susie) Scutt Jr.; 6 grandchildren, Bethany (Mike) Schultz, Juliane (Craig) Beishuizen, Anna Bennett, Isaac Bennett, Will Scutt and Shannon Evans; great grandchild, Haleigh Scutt. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 1, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Aurelius Baptist Church, 4419 W. Barnes Rd., Mason, MI 48854 with Pastor Stephen C. Aikin officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Aurelius Twp., MI. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason, MI 48854. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Aurelius Baptist Church, 4419 W. Barnes Rd., Mason, MI 48854.
