Gerald "Gerry" Lee VanDouser

Mason, Michigan

age, 74, died January 6, 2015; born November 12, 1940 to John and Vivian (Ballard) VanDouser in Mason, Michigan. Gerry has been a resident of Mason his entire life; retiring from General Car and Truck Leasing. He was a member and very active in the Eden United Brethren Church, Mason Kiwanis Club and Exchange Club of Jackson. Gerry was an avid car enthusiast; enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, singing, yard work and tinkering in his workshop. Gerry is survived by his wife, Carol, of 56 years; daughters, Janet (Lee) Larner, Julie (Kevin) Emison, Jill VanDouser, Janene (Mike) Cooke; son, Joel VanDouser; special family members, Denise Gerst, Stacy Hitchcock and her children; 17 grandchildren, Tiffany, Jessica, Aaron, Nathan, Katie, Jarod, Maggie, Kayla, Kyleigh, Nicole, Branden, Corey, Breanne, Joscelyn, Joseph, Jacob, Joshua; 13 great-grandchildren and soon to be 14; brothers, John (Shirley) VanDouser, Larry (Vickie) Vinson; sister, Anne (Ken) Murphy; and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eden United Brethren Church, 1938 Eden Rd., Mason, MI 48854 with the Rev. Dan Bentz, Rev. Milan Maybee, and Rev. Clare Huyck officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Church. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Eden United Brethren Church. Gerry’s life was dedicated to God, family, country, cars and music.
