Glenna Marguerite was born in Eaton County, Michigan, to Earl and Flossie Childs on July 18, 1919. She married Willard Droscha on June 20, 1937. The couple made the farm on Toles Road their home together for 61 years, until Willard’s death in 1998.
Glenna and Willard raised six sons, Rudolph, Ruben, Ronald, David, Alan, Christopher and grandson Rick. They were the grandparents of 16, great-grandparents of 29, and great-great grandparents to one.
Glenna was an active member of the Aurelius Baptist Church for many, many years using her musical gifts as church pianist for over 74 years, and also served as teacher and librarian. Glenna served Aurelius Township for 35 years as Deputy Clerk and Clerk. She was Head Librarian for 25 years for the Ingham County Library, Aurelius Branch. Glenna was also a piano teacher for 25 years, secretary of the local Farm Bureau group, and a 4-H leader in vegetable, flower gardening, and wild flowers. She was recognized by Aurelius Township when the Glenna Droscha Park was named in her honor.
Glenna said that her main purpose in life was to be a good farm wife, mother, and homemaker. She appreciated the beauty and detail of God’s creation and always took the time to notice it. She was witty and kind and had a sympathetic regard, respect, and concern for others. Glenna loved watching her grandchildren and entertaining them with stories of the past. She always had a supply of gumdrops in the kitchen and loved a good cookie. Glenna had an ear for music and loved listening to and playing it. She also had a flair for writing and blessed many with the gift of correspondence. She always greeted everyone with a smile, was selfless with her love, and took joy in the things the mattered most. Glenna loved the Lord and declared that any honor in her life belonged only to God.
A visitation for Glenna will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at Aurelius Baptist Church, 4419 West Barnes Rd., Mason, Michigan 48854. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM, followed by a funeral procession to Greenwood Cemetery in Mason, MI for interment. Serving as pallbearers are Alan Droscha, Rick Droscha, Jon Droscha, Laurie Smoldt, Scott Droscha, Kim Floyd, and Eryn Droscha.
