

On Saturday February 11th Jason Steve Amon passed away at 61 years young. He was born to Gerald J.C. Amon and Mable M Hawks in Lansing, MI in 1961. He attended Otto Middle School and Eastern High School. During his younger years Jason enjoyed playing football, singing alto in choir, and swimming. He joined the Army at the age of 17 and received his GED. He served 3 years in the US Army, 1.7 years served in the Korean Demilitarized Zone as a military air defense crewman with a specialty in hawk missiles and rifle marksmanship. Jason left the Army in 1980 under Honorable Discharge. After his time served, he moved back home and started his career in metal and machine engineering.
Jason and his wife Crystal first met in 1990 during a lunch rush at the Unicorn Tavern in Lansing, MI. Their relationship kindled over several years until they were married on June 11th, 2011. They built a beautiful life and successful business together in Dansville, MI. He was a beloved member of the community and loved by many.
Jason was an avid outdoorsman and loved to spend his free time with friends and family. He loved his dog companions and enjoyed taking his puppy Rocky for walks and rides on his quad. He was most at peace spending nights in the comfort of his home and his weekends outdoors and sitting by the campfire. He was a loyal friend and enjoyed helping them with their projects. He was a skilled artist and loved sketching and woodworking. He was a passionate and loving man and will be missed greatly.
Jason was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Crystal; his sister Cindy (Steve); his children, Tara (Jeremiah), Jessika, Stephanie, LeAnna (Aaron); his 7 grandchildren, Jaydin, Hunter, Jaxson, Arthur, Holden, Finnley, Theodore; and beloved cousins, Terry (Wendie), Ron (Lois), and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Family of Jason Amon would like to thank Dansville Fire and Rescue and EMS crew for their nonstop efforts to save his life.
A visitation for Jason will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 3:00 to 6:00PM, with a funeral service taking place at 4:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 East Middle Street, Williamston, MI 48895.
Jason’s remains will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Dansville, MI. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
Jason’s family requests consideration of donations to Capital Area Humane Society and The Wounded Warrior Project.
