Jennetta Fay Gallimore

Jan was born on April 3, 1935 in Moulton, AL to her parents, William and Grace Canup. She moved to Lansing, MI and was married to R. Dean Gallimore in 1954. Jan was a daycare provider for over 47 years, and was “Grandma Jan” to many children. She retired in 2003 and dedicated her remaining time to caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jan enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden and growing flowers. She never missed a garage sale or a craft show, and she loved cooking all of her favorite southern dishes for her entire family.

Jan is survived by her four children, Robbie (Scott) Allarding of Mason, MI; Brian (Rachel) Gallimore of Grand Ledge, MI; Tammy (Jim) Lynch of Grand Forks, ND; Shelby Gallimore of Mason, MI; her siblings, C.S. “Buddy” Canup and Letha Ewyon St. John of Alabama; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dean, who passed in 2010.

A memorial service is to be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason, Michigan on Saturday, July 11 at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jan’s life.
