Larry George Soule

Growing up and living in Dansville his entire life he was a very proud “Aggie”. He played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track, excelling in all of them. Larry helped his teams add many trophies to the high school trophy case. He would tell you 12 of the trophies being added in his senior year of 1956-1957.

After school he worked at General Motors Fisher Body as a skilled tradesman until he went into the Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division from 1961 to 1963. Upon returning from his military service, he went back to General Motors Fisher Body where he spent a total of 30 years. When he retired from GM, he went into full time crop farming until 2010.

He was a member of the Michigan Steam Engine and Threshers Club for 35 years and the All Colors Tractor Club for 30 years. Larry was also an avid slow pitch softball player into his 70’s.

Green tractors (John Deere) with a sprinkle of red (Farmall) were his passion and he collected many, but his favorite was his 1925 John Deere Spoker D. Collecting anything John Deere was his goal, which he excelled in. His grandsons called his shop Soule Hardware or Ace Hardware East. The woods also gave him so much joy, whether it was hunting, cutting wood, or driving his gator.

Larry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy (Armour) Soule; two children, Kristy (Greg) Robinson and Craig (Inetta) Soule; four grandchildren, Tyler (Melissa) Robinson, Garret (Lauren) Soule, Morgan Robinson, and Clay (Erica) Soule; three great grandchildren, Calum Soule, Beckett and Cameron Robinson; and his two siblings, Leroy Soule and Linda Kemper.

A private committal service will take place at Fairview Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life for Larry will be held on July 20, 2025 from 12-4 pm at 264 N. Meridian Rd., Mason, MI 48854.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be made to the Dansville Athletic Department or to the Dansville FFA (Future Farmers of America), both at PO Box 187, 1264 Adams Street Dansville, MI 48819.
