On Sunday, May 23, 2021, Marguerite Ann Ramsden, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, entered the gates of heaven at the age of 91. Marguerite (Peggy) Ramsden (nee Young) was born in Saginaw, Michigan on May 5, 1930, to Richard and Sadie Young. Peggy had 3 sisters Nancy (George) Prottenger (both pre-deceased), Pat (John) Hodgson, and Judy (Duane) Hoffman. She also had numerous nieces and nephews and a special aunt, Lorna (Fred) Dietzel (also pre-deceased). Peggy lived most of her life in Saginaw, but moved to Mason, Michigan later in life to be near one of her daughter’s.

Peggy was a strong, independent, determined, and loving mother who raised 3 daughters: Linda Reinbold (George), Lori Kuelske (Emil) and Lisa Kenney (Gerry). She also had a fourth daughter, Deborah Ramsden who died shortly after birth.

Peggy proudly recalls after graduating from Arthur Hill High School, getting a job with Michigan Bell. She talked frequently of showing her father her first paycheck. After her children were born, she spent all of her time as a full-time mother, but always had time to volunteer with their schools and church. When her youngest daughter was in high school, she returned to the work with the Saginaw Township Schools. She took every opportunity she had in life to help others around her, especially children. Later in life she worked as a salesperson at Bubbles Plus Spas, a store owned by her daughter, and son in law, Linda and George Reinbold. She was so proud of her ability to go from a fairly shy person to a successful salesperson.

Peggy’s passion in life was her family. She moved around the country spending time with her daughter in Traverse City, another in Mason, and her youngest in Colleyville, Texas. She was blessed with health and high energy for most of her life and traveled extensively around the country and world with her family. She loved her time as a member of the Michigan Athletic Club (MAC) in East Lansing, Michigan, where she participated in water aerobics with a close group of friends. She was also active at the Mason Senior Center and made several close friends there. When she finally took a few moments to rest and relax, Peggy could be found crocheting, another passion, and she completed afghans for all of her children, grandchildren (Regina Douglas (Kenny), Nick Kuelske (Alexi), Devin Kenney and Lindsay Kenney) and great children (Logan Douglas, Josh VanAlstine, Colbie and Noelle Kuelske). She had numerous friends everywhere she went and enjoyed going to lunch with friends, sisters and sisters in law.

A memorial service will be held at Saint James Catholic Church, Mason, Michigan on June 9, 2021 at 11:00 am. A visitation will be held in advance of the service at Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Home, 621 S. Jefferson Street, Mason, Michigan from 9:00 -10:30 am.

Covid protocols will be followed for all non-vaccinated individuals. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Saginaw Rescue Mission.

We are sad at the loss of our dear Peggy. She was a valued member of our Wednesday lunch, domino and Quiddler weekly meeting, after attending the MAC pool class. The pandemic has made a large pause in our group being able to be together and only phone calls have kept us connected. We miss her and our prayers go out to her family. With love, Ann Page, Gen Healy, Gloria Morrison and Jeanne Haines. Our group also included Ann Lancaster, already in heaven. We are unable to attend the services, but you will be in our hearts.

I have great memories of growing up around Aunt Peggy, Uncle Jerry and Linda, Lori and Lisa. Aunt Peggy was a kind and beautiful soul. She and her family are in my prayers.

Biografía

To my Family
If I were to leave a legacy for my family, it would be to follow the Lord, and live his ways. Trust him in all things.
I have had a good life, my parents taught me important values in life, honesty and love. They were special. You, Linda, Lori and Lisa have brought me much happiness. I am very proud of you. You are honest loving daughters. I can’t begin to tell you how much you have helped me through my life, I love you! You are very special.
I am very fond of my son-in-law’s. You girls are fortunate to have them as husbands and fathers. I love them.
My grandchildren have given me much joy. I am very proud of them and love them dearly. Time spent with them as they were growing up was special and fun, School, fun times, activities, sports and trips, etc.
I had closeness with my sisters, took trips with them and their husbands. They always had time for me when I most needed it, Nancy who I miss so much.
I learned the Lord didn’t put us here on earth for only our happiness but to help others and do volunteer work. Be open to other people’s needs.
Recognize the Lord in your life. Listen for his voice in your thoughts.

2 Corinthians 13:11-12
Now Brothers and sisters, I say good-bye. Try to be complete. Do what I have asked you to do. Agree with each other, and live in peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet each other with a holy kiss.

Love you,
Mom & Grandma
