God said to me one day when I was missing my loved one really bad. He said when you. miss them, just look in the mirror and you will see them.

Melvyn's Family:

Vicki and I were managers at The Marquette retirement facility when Melvyn cane to live there.  Vicki and Melvin were good friend and they both loved to dance.  If music was playing Melvyn was dancing, with someone or on his own it did not matter.  Melvyn always had a big smile on his face and was a joy to be around.  We are so very sorry for your loss and can only hope that all of the good memories of Melvyn will sustain you during this time of grief

Hello to the wonderful children of Mel.  Fond memories of your entire family when we all lived on Laxton Rd. You children played with my children many years ago, Bob, David and Cathy Kane.  Love to you three,  Carol (now Cheney)

I will always remember Mel and the mischievous smile that he had. I think he had more fun in HS than most of us.I thank him for his service to our country in the marines and later  to the Red Cross. May his legacy live on thru his children and their families and may the Lord give you peace and comfort.

My mother, Joyce, also lives at the Marquette and she sat with Mel at the same dining room table every day.  I had the pleasure of meeting Mel when dining with my mother.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a good storyteller!  I am so sorry for the family's loss and we will miss him as well.  Rest in peace and love, Mel.

Condolences from Dennis Pannabecker, classmate of Mel in Okemos. May the Lord give a sense of peace during this time.

Mel was a dedicated member of the Red Cross Disaster Team for many years and we remember his willingness to help others on deployment.  Although disasters have a tremendous impact on people, Mel's smile was able to ease the pain and stress for many people he helped and worked with over the years.  He is fondly remembered and will be missed.  Our Condolences to all his family,

I remember Melvyn from Mason Meijer. He would come in a couple times a week and do and sit in the cafeteria to eat lunch. We had some good conversations over the years and he always had a smile for you. He would always tell me he was going dancing. I missed him for the last few years. He has and will be missed.

I have so many fond memories of Uncle Mel.  My thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathy go out to his wonderful family.  He will be missed.

We have many fond memories of you Mel even before your son became  ours too. You were still working for Bell telephone company and you came to our home to replace a damaged phone cord.You saw right off what the problem was having several teens who like to use the phone .He went out to his truck and returned with a 30 ft.red cord that would match our phone and asked if I would mind replacing it with the longer one  ,of course I said yeah...that would be great ...later years our kids joined our familys permanently when they married ...Mel was always a gentleman and greeted us with a big smile and hug...Thanks for the memories Mel.
