Michael passed away suddenly at home recovering from surgery on May 18th 2021. He was 56 years old. He was a Father, Husband, Best Friend, Provider, Teacher, and Uplifter to his family before all else. A graduate of Holy Redeemer, Detroit MI. Michael worked his way from a factory floor worker all the way to an irreplaceable Advanced Quality Engineer at Magna DexSys – a testament to his relentless work ethic.

He was a son to Larry and Henrietta Kowalski, born in 1964, and a brother to Steve and Mark Kowalski. He met his life partner and best friend, Tammy Kowalski at the age of 26 in a hair salon and married her at age 29. He went on to have his loving children – Christian, Savannah, and Kyler at 31, 37, and 42.

Mike was a mountain of a man, cherished by those around him. He was strong, kind, gentle, loving, funny, selfless, and caring. He loved spending his time hunting, fishing, working on projects around the home and being with his family above all things. Mike was very fond of his daughter’s first boyfriend Chase Vahoski and approved of them marrying - with hopes that they soon would. He loved Chase and thought very highly of him, although they only knew each other 8 months he had a great fatherly impact on Chase.

Mike was a man of God and had learned all that he had needed to learn here on this earth, he is now reaping his rewards in Heaven. His loved ones will celebrate his cherished memory every day until they get to see him again. His service of remembrance will be Wednesday, May 26th at 1:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Ball Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of the service. In honor of Mike's love for the outdoors, casual attire is welcome.

Mike was an awesome brother who would do anything for anyone. He was an awesome softball player, basketball player and bowler as well. He learned to do things such as drywalling, fixing things like his boat by just doing them. We had such a great childhood together in the fine neighborhood of southwest Detroit. Memories of softball, basketball and bowling I will cherish forever. Have fun with dad and our family in heaven Mike. I love you and miss you terribly already. Your brother Mark.
