Myrtle Elizabeth Herrera

Mason, MI

Myrtle Elizabeth Herrera, age 56, lost her courageous battle with cancer on May 16, 2012. She was born December 30, 1955, in Lansing, MI to William and Nellie Browers. Myrtle grew up in Mason and graduated from Mason High School. She cherished her children and grandchildren and was an active member at Capitol City Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Micheal Browers. Surviving are her husband of 38 years, John Herrera; her 7 children, John Herrera, Josh Herrera, Jacob Herrera, Jessica Witkovsky, Jerrard Herrera, Jordan Herrera and Justin Herrera; 5 daughters-in-law, one son-in-law; and 12 grandchildren. Myrtle will be remembered for her love of Jesus and her commitment to do the Lord’s work. A celebration of Myrtle’s life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Capitol City Baptist Church, 5100 W. Willoughby Road, Holt, MI 48842 with the Rev. Dr. Daryl L. Franzel officiating. Interment will be in North Aurelius Cemetery, Aurelius Township, MI. The family will receive friends in the Deaf Chapel at Capitol City Baptist Church Friday, May 18 from 11AM – 1 PM; 2 PM – 4:00 PM and 6-8 PM.
