A true outdoorsman at heart, Roy found solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. Whether he was hunting in the crisp autumn air, casting his line into the peaceful waters, or roasting marshmallows by the campfire under the starlit sky, Roy's spirit thrived in the wilderness.
You could find Roy riding on his beloved John Deere Tractor or immersed in the tales of the Old West, his favorite TV shows. Roy's family was his greatest treasure, however, and he cherished every moment spent in their company. His love extended beyond human companionship, as he loved all animals, especially the bond he shared with his faithful cat and dog.
Roy is survived by his children Lora Blanchard, Joyce (Norm) Kenyon, Gloria (Brian) Voigt, Oscar (Cindy) Horning and Christine (Roy) West; grandchildren, Kurt Horning, Brian Voigt, Alan Voigt, Sean Voigt, Josh Voigt, Jonathan Horning, Cody Horning, Nicholas Briggs and Briana Briggs; great-grandchildren, Emily, Mackenzie, Hope, Alannah, Colton, Riley, Jackson, Ava, Xander and Jior; siblings Larry Blanchard and Nina Sebastian. Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Mary Alice Blanchard; parents Guy and Esther Blanchard; and siblings Billy Blanchard, Rosanne Blanchard, Donna Fry and Arthur Blanchard.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
