He was born on July 12, 1949 in Lewiston, Maine to Pauline and Honore Morin. While he moved often as a child, he ultimately settled back in Maine, graduating from Lisbon High School in 1967. He was employed as a factory worker until his retirement in 2007.
He married his wife of nearly 50 years, Suzanne C. Morin, on October 16, 1971. Together they raised two children, Dr. Melissa Morin and Matthew Morin. Victor and Suzanne moved to Mason, Michigan in 2016 to be closer to his daughter, her wife, Dr. Melissa Rosenberg, and their beloved grandchildren, Ephram and Avery.
Victor spent his years in Michigan enjoying time with Suzanne, exploring their new surroundings, cheering on the Red Sox from afar, and doting on their grandchildren. He never missed a morning walk with his neighborhood friends and enjoyed building model boats and jigsaw puzzles in his workshop. Victor and Suzanne were always front and center to celebrate their grandchildren’s milestones and he relished being able to watch them celebrate birthdays, preschool graduations, school events, and dance recitals. Victor was always up for an adventure and spent several summers searching the shores of Lake Michigan for Petoskey stones, exploring hiking trails, swimming with his grandkids, stargazing with his telescope, and visiting museums in Detroit and Chicago. He was an avid reader, movie, and history buff. He and Ephram could spend hours exchanging facts about U.S. history and Marvel comics. He enjoyed golf outings with Matthew, and always looked forward to their yearly trips. Above all, Victor was utterly devoted to Suzanne and his family and would change plans at a moment’s notice if anyone should ask for help.
We will all miss Victor’s endless rambling, bad jokes, perpetual offers of wintergreen Lifesavers, and stories told time and again until we all knew them by heart. Victor will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him.
Victor is survived by his wife, Suzanne C Morin; his children, Dr. Melissa Morin and her wife, Dr. Melissa Rosenberg; and his son, Matthew Morin and his girlfriend, Mariuxy Ramos; his grandchildren, Ephram and Avery Rosenberg; his sister, Linda Abbott; brother, Thomas Morin and his wife, Leslie; sisters-in-law, Carol Genthner, Carmen White, Claire Jalbert and her husband, Marc; and Rachel Caron, as well as, several nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19, Victor’s family will not be holding formal services. In lieu of a memorial service or flowers, please consider a donation to The Jimmy Fund in his honor -
