Wanda J. Jones

Wanda J. Jones was born on April 11, 1943 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of the late Morell G. and Bernice (Watson) Root, and passed away on October 27, 2015 at the age of 72. She loved gardening, bowling, men’s butts, bingo, Elvis and most of all her family. Strong family values were always a priority with Wanda. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Grimm and Joan from Tri County Office on Aging and to Geneal, Cheryl and Joanne for their wonderful care. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norval Jones; brother, Jerry Root; and sister, Sue Porter. Surviving to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Cheryl Workman (John Miller), Diane (Scott) Jones, Joanne (Wayne) Bishop and Judie (Troy) Walden; eleven grandchildren, Geneal (Bobby) Prather, Staci (Ryan) Fillingham, Caitlyn (Brenden) Miller, Traci (Zach) Sisson, Kyle Bishop, Amanda (Zech) Shaffer, Alyssa (Sean) Walden, Makayla Walden, Colin Walden, Michelle Small, and Kristasue Small; twelve great grandchildren; three brothers, Gary, Chuck and Ron Root; and two sisters, Carol Harris and Patty Haynes. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Holt Christian Church, 2424 Washington St., Lansing, MI 48911. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family in care of Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S.
