With sorrow, we announce that our beloved ANNA TORTORA age 84, went to heaven on February 9th, 2022. She was a unique expression of love and care, strength and resilience, values, and humor. She was the center of our family but her wonderful embrace extended to many who will deeply mourn her here and abroad. Beloved wife of Alfonso (deceased); dearest mother of Michael (deceased, Angie), Antonio (Sonia) and Carmine (Nicole); devoted grandmother of Alfonso Joseph (Nikki), Michael Daniel (Leigh) and Alfonso Eliseo; great grandmother of Michael Maximilian; dear sister of Giuseppina Petta (Giuseppe), Vincenzo Petta (Maria), Pasquale Petta (Dorina), Carlo Petta (Rita); sister-in-law of Rose Rispoli (Vincenzo) and Gerarda Montesano (Pasquale); aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend to many. To the joy of her parents Michelina and Antonio, Anna was born on September 30, 1937, in Liporte (Nocera Inferiore), Salerno Italy, where she met the love of her life, Alfonso, who she married on March 12, 1961. They moved to Cleveland, OH with and their young family in 1971 and created their own American Dream. She was formidable woman, who juggled 3 jobs while caring for her husband and 3 rambunctious boys and found time to enjoy life dancing and playing cards. Her devotion to her family, God and friends showed on all that she did, especially her amazing food. Through sublime eggplant parmigiana, meatballs, pasta al forno, pizza, Baba-au-Rhum, cookies and stuffoli, she filled your body and blessed your soul. Mamma was kind, generous and compassionate, as well as a passionate spirit, a fighter who with her example showed us how to face obstacles and be resilient. Our hears hurt with the separation but we take comfort in knowing that she is in Heaven with Papa and Michael, at peace, surrounded by angels and living for ever in treasured memories. The family will receive friends at the DiCICCO & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 5975 MAYFIELD RD. MAYFIELD HTS. OH 44124, on Monday, February 21st from 4:00-7:00 pm. The Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 22nd at the funeral home followed by the Entombment at WHITEHAVEN MEMORIAL PARK.
