
Anthony Aveni age 88, passed away March 18, 2013. Born March 30, 1924 in Cleveland to Dominic and Angela Aveni. He attended Cleveland Public Schools and later served in the military. He moved to South Euclid and married Mary Hancharik. He worked as a mason in the family business, Aveni Construction Company until his father retired and became head of the company. He continued to work in the family business until he retired. Anthony enjoyed designing and building garden fountains. He enjoyed garden landscaping and vegetable gardens. He was an accomplished cook and enjoyed entertaining his many friends. Anthony enjoyed golf, football and was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Indians. He was a member of the South Euclid Lions Club, Collinwood Memories, Eagles Club and Italian American Veterans. Anthony was a communicant of Saint Gregory the Great Church in South Euclid. Anthony will be sadly missed by his children Jean Pauer, Linda Utz, Anthony Aveni and Frank Aveni, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Anthony’s first wife Mary died in 2002. Anthony was the brother of Dominic Aveni and Lucille Finley and also the now deceased Jack Aveni and Teresa Kingsmill.
