ANTHONY J. “Tony” GIORDANO 87, of Gates Mills, died peacefully at home on Thursday, November 21, 2019. Tony was born on October 8, 1932, in Cleveland, the son of Joseph and Lucia (nee Celeste) Giordano. The youngest of 8 children, he graduated from Shaw High School in Cleveland and married Margot M. Giordano (nee Foster) on May 12, 1956. He was a dear husband to Margot, a loving father to David (Sue), Anthony J. (Maria), and Monica G. Saponaro (Joseph); a devoted Papa to Brittany Pandian (Mukundh), David (Rebecca), Christina Villani (Michael), Anthony, Alex (Fiancé Chris Waldock), and Joey, Christian, and Matt Saponaro; adoring great grandfather to Sevyn, Callan and Gavin; and caring brother to Theresa Previte and Esther Cabot. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lucia, and his siblings: Michael, Mary Chermak, Florence Corsillo, Louis, and Joseph. Tony's family is eternally grateful to his earth angel, Doris Ford, who treated Tony as her own and took wonderful care of him during this past year. Tony’s family also is grateful for the care, comfort and support Tony and his family received during the last weeks of his life from Hospice of the Western Reserve, especially Mary Jane, Darcia and Kristine, and the First Light Home Care staff. The Mass celebrating Tony's life will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6850 Mayfield Road, Gates Mills.
