

ANTHONY TRIVISONNO, born in Ripa, Italy, January 20, 1920, came to America at age 8. As a child, while residing in “Little Italy”, he sold newspapers on Mayfield and Euclid. Tony worked his teen years as groundkeeper for the Blossom Estates. As a naturalized citizen at age 22, Tony joined the 202nd Field Artillery Battalion with the United States Third Army under the leadership of Lieutenant General George S. Patton. He was a Corporal during WWII, and served in Germany, France and Italy until the war was over. He was as Ammunition Handler. Proud of his Medals for Efficiency, Honor & Fidelity, Efforts for the American Campaign and The European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign and World War II Victory Medal, Tony’s life was forever changed because of his service to this country. Returning home from war Tony worked as a truck driver delivering barrels of oil and gasoline for Union 76 Oil Co. He retired at 65. Tony was a lifetime member of the Italian Ripa Club. He was also a respected Doorman at the well-known Richmond Theatre. Sometimes working as many as three jobs to make ends-meet, Tony was determined to make it in America. Prior to war he married his lovely wife Marie (Iaciofano). They remained married for 66 years until she passed away just last year. It took 40+ years to have their first child. Tony is survived by his only son Michael Anthony, devoted daughter-in-law Sherri (Leonetti), granddaughter Sara Trivisonno, Ted & Shannon Carbone, Matt Carbone, Teresa Carbone and four (4) great-grandchildren.
