I could really use some of your sunshine today. Everything has been so gloomy without you. Your voice alone could bring a smile to my face. I love you and miss you more than words can say.

To Christina:
Today is your birthday. It seems like just yesterday the nurse placed you in my arms and I fell in love. I took one look at your pitch black hair and you looked up at me and I called out your name and you gave me a tiny smile.  It has been four-and-a-half years since you passed and I have so many memories of you as a child that I hold near and dear to my heart.  Moms and dads take every memory and store them in the depths of their hearts.  Christina, two of the most profound experiences for me were the day you came into the world as my daughter and the day you left.  The day you left this world you left quickly and quietly and yet the black hole that was created by your absence became a shrieking void in my life.  

You see Christie, I've learned how to be a warrior from you and your siblings.  You taught me how to be fierce and protective during your short life.  I feel that you are still there watching over me.  Nudging me along.  Making sure that I stay positive and true and I am still learning to find my way.  Thank you for that.  I wanted to die when you died, but I didn't.  I had to choose to live.  I feel you sitting on my shoulder and wrapping your arms around me during the tough times.  I realize that life and death are just points along a continuum.  You are gone, yet still nearby.  I look to you for guidance and comfort as often as I look to God.  Christie, I still watch the sun set on December 7 and wish I had you in my arms, stroking your black hair, putting up the Christmas tree, and planning for tomorrow.

Happy Birthday! Today you would have been 28 years old and I know we would be celebrating with WHITE cake and at the end of the party you would have finished it off by saying this was the best birthday ever and all those birthdays we shared were the best birthday's ever I just didn't think they would end so soon because they weren't supposed to. Time has done little to lessen the pain or the yearning to see your beautiful face and to hear that sweet voice. For now we will have to celebrate birthday's apart and someday if I make it to where your at we will celebrate together again and that will truly be the best birthday ever! I didn't know your beloved "Christy" in person. Although, because of numerous conversations with Dr.Schwartz, I know how much she was loved. There was a   heartfelt sense of how special she was to your family, as well as to everyone who knew her. Disney World was Christy"s favorite place to visit. Disney is also called "The Magic Kingdom."  I believe Christy may have felt her life was magical, as it was filled with loving care, kindness and awe. Many of her drawings were hung at her Dad's office. One, in particular,caught my eye. It was a page filled with hearts. I loved it. My feeling was, it captured how she viewed the world. Those we've loved NEVER completely leave us, when their memory lives on in our thoughts, words and deeds. I am deeply saddened by your loss. May GOD be with you. Brenda Schonberg

A piece of us died with you and a piece of us keeps dying every day since. I miss your voice, anyone that heard it knows it was the sound we once had and lost. When we were enthusiastic about everything, just as excited the 100th time as we were the first time we saw Cinderella's castle, loved without judgement or conditions, happy because it was a new day,didn't realize that people were different, and believed in Santa Clause. These are the things I heard in Christies voice and miss everyday because I haven't heard it since she's been gone. I love you and think about you everyday. You are the one time won't heal.

The world thinks we live by some huge clock, with things to do, and places to go, all at a certain time, and all in a certain order. I believe Christie knew that we have our own clock, invisible as it is, which is different.  I believe Christie knew the meaning of Ecclesiastes 3... "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven..."  She knew the difference between time, and timelessness- that time is such a small arc in the realm of timelessness. God gave her a body so her loved ones would be able to recognize her spirit for a time.  Her comforting, loving spirit is here, just as it always has been.

BIG C i could not help to think about you Yesterday and any other day. I know i would annoy you and bother you all the time but that was just my way of showing my love for you, you and we both knew that. I always loved my sister for teaching me so much about life such as there being good people in this world, never hate people for being different, and goals that seem ridiculous can be achieved with teamwork. Christie has shown me that life has a lot of good people in this world, that not everyone is corrupt and that people are nice just to be... Nice. She taught me not to hate people who are different, she did so by showing me that she was less like anyone else but she liked herself more for being like that. And that made me realize different can be a good thig. Lastly, she showed me what can be accomplished through teamwork. She proved this by helping me achieve ridiculous challenges in even small things like video games, but it was still an achievement that I couldn't do without her.

Dr Schwartz and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Mark and I didnt get to meet Christy, but I am sure she was a shining star. I have the most respect for Dr. Schwartz as a doctor and a person.A good person down to the core. So, Christy had to be very special. My thoughts and prayers are with You and your family. God Bless.

I think about you now that you've gone and you're the reason I can't concentrate and my world has turned upside down. It is often said that all things happen for a reason. When Christy was diagnosed with leukemia before her first birthday and than relapsed a reason was hard to find. Than God let us keep her for 18 more years. In those 18 years Christy touched the lives of everyone she met. I still don't understand the reason Christy was so sick or why we lost her at 23 but I do understand the reason she lived. Christy was an Angel. She was sent not only to brighten the lives of everyone she touched but she represented the kindness, love and innocence we all hoped still existed in the world. Angels aren't meant to stay long. If your lucky you get to meet one that touches your life before God calls them home. I was extremely blessed because I got to be an Angels aunt. I will miss your sweet voice, your beautiful smile and all your kisses but I will always keep you in my heart.

I will never forget her infectious smile and the beautiful picture she gave me. My deepest condolences to Dr.Schwartz and Family.
