Dearest Quagliata Family,

   It has been quite a year, having lost the most magical family members of our lives.  

   My Father Sal and My Mother Laura would always reference Dora in the stories they told.  There was great laughter and admiration in every episode.  

   It is our wonderfully large and loving family that helps us through these times.  God Bless all of The Quagliata Family.

   May the greatness of Dora continue to shine in all of your lives.

My dear cousins Carl, John, Fritz and your families, 

I know you will miss your mother more than words can say. There was no one quite like your mother, my Aunt Dora.

“With loving memories” means so much more when thinking about my Auntie Dora because there are so many wonderful memories to cherish.

I remember… 

watching The Wizard of Oz on a black and white TV in her living room with all 24 of our cousins while Aunt Dora prepared an traditional Italian feast for our dinner; 

her laugh, that very unique and contagious laugh, as she worked making flower displays or decorating cakes (all self-taught);

the best birthday cake ever with a doll in the center (Boy, did I feel special.);

watching her make roses for her wedding cakes (She made it look so easy.); 

her visits to Florida to visit my grandparents and my mother (We sat around the table eating her fabulous cookies and talking for hours.);

my trip with her, Uncle Bill and Aunt Miriam to Italy (Where she had to keep interpreting for me. We made great travel buddies).

I could go on and on. I’ll miss my Aunt Dora but her memories will keep her alive forever.

I will always remember Dora (Aunt Dora as we called her in the kitchen at Spaghetti Company). She was a wonderful woman. I remember the wedding shower cake she made for me and the delicious cookies. She made us laugh in the kitchen and kept things in line! Those good ol' days will always be remembered. May you and your family find peace in this difficult time.
