Elaine Maureen Dee

ELAINE MAUREEN DEE (nee Richardson) aged 81 of Chagrin Falls passed away February, 20th 2021. Beloved wife of George Wallace Dee. Devoted mother of Sheena Dee Pauley ( husband Glen). Honorary Great Grand Nana of Allie Fine. Daughter of Matthew and Margaret (D’Arcy) Richardson (both deceased). Sister of the following deceased, Brian and James Richardson and Eileen McKie (Terry). Loving Aunt to many, including Michelle Proud (Brian), Beverly Morris, Victor Dee (Ann), Stewart Dee (Pat), Jimmy Hyland (Esther), Ray Hyland (Joanne) Breffni Ryan (Martin), Nollaig Kenna (PJ), Patrick Hyland (Ciara), Clare McKie (Patrick), Anthony McKie, Helen Gowlland, Jimmy Richardson, Ed, Sean and Maureen Robinson and all the Richardson/Elsender Family.

Born in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England on March 29th, 1939. Summers were spent with her Mother’s family in Monasterevin, Co. Kildare at their horse farm. She loved her Robinson/ Hyland cousins: Kathleen Hyland (James), George Robinson (Barbara), Paddy Robinson, Sean Robinson (Marie), Judy and Eamon. She was very proud of their achievements in the horse racing world. She met her beloved husband George in her aunt’s pub in Gateshead. They had a long and happy marriage of over 57 years. Engineering executive George was transferred to Cleveland, Ohio and the family moved to the USA in 1977.They settled in Walden in Aurora and made many friends. She loved to entertain on their deck overlooking the 18th hole. Elaine always had an entrepreneurial spirit which led to her owning Quick Stitch in North Randall. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was the life of the party who lit up the room when she entered it. She made everyone feel special with her signature “Hello Luv”. She was warm and generous to everyone she knew. She loved wearing colorful outfits and high heels. She was a member of the Daughters of the British Empire for over 30 years. She was a proud dual citizen of the United Kingdom and the United States. She will be missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elaine’s name to support heart research at Cleveland Clinic.
