Grace was born on April 6th, 1937, in Mysore, India. She was the oldest, with six younger brothers, and at age sixteen started medical school. After graduating, she moved to Spokane, Washington to start her medical residency training. This was the beginning of a distinguished career that brought her from Spokane to Ohio, where she became the director of pathology for Kaiser Permanente.
Here she began a fifty-year career as a medical doctor with an internship at Sacred Heart Hospital. For over three decades she served as Director of Pathology for Kaiser Permanente. She also taught pathology to medical students for Case Western Reserve.
In 1954, she met her husband John Paul at medical school in Mysore. They immigrated to America and had two children, Sheila and Sima.
In 2013, Grace retired from Kaiser and spent her time working as a lab director for Neon. She was also active with Bethlehem Baptist Church and Parkside Christian Church.
Grace is survived by her husband, John, and her children, Sheila and Sima; their husbands, both named John, and five grandchildren, Grace, Andrew, Alex, Danny, and Meera.
