August 31, 1967 - March 1, 2026
PAINESVILLE, OH - James "Jim" Vincent Allender Crowley, age 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 6:00 AM. After a courageous journey through life, Jim has finally found a restful place free from the sickness and pain that he bore with quiet strength.
Born in Ohio on August 31, 1967, Jim was a lifelong resident of the area, most recently calling Painesville home. To many, Jim appeared as a "rough guy," a man of grit and resilience who didn't mind speaking his mind. However, those who truly knew him were well aware of his sweet, soft soul and his deep capacity for kindness.
Jim found joy in the simple, steady rhythms of life. He was a familiar and friendly face at the local Walmart Subway, where he spent many afternoons "people watching"-observing the world go by with a keen eye and a quiet wit. He had a profound love for animals, especially his beloved kitty, who remained a constant source of comfort and companionship.
He is survived by his devoted mother, Anne Elizabeth Crowley of Altoona, Florida, his sister Christina Marie Turnage and his cherished cat. Jim also leaves behind his best friend of nearly his entire life, David Berch of Eastlake, Ohio. David was more than a friend; he was Jim's brother in every sense that mattered, standing by him through every chapter of his life until the very end.
Jim will be deeply missed by his family, his lifelong friend, and the many neighbors who knew him as a man with a tough exterior and a heart of pure gold.
"He has found his quiet place now, where the air is still and the pain is gone."
"He is now in a place of peace, where the burdens of the body are gone, and the spirit is finally at rest."
