MARIA ASSUNTA BERNARDO (nee DiLemme) August 14, 1923 – October 3, 2012. Maria Assunta passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday. She was born and raised in Isernia, Italy and graduated from Il Collegio Francesco Amatuzio where she was educated by the Sisters of Le Discepole di Gesu' Eucaristico and gained her elementary teaching degree. She was one of six children born to the late Angelo DiLemme and Antimina (Avicoli) DiLemme and was the beloved and treasured wife of the late Raffaele Angelo Bernardo. Maria Assunta will forever be remembered by her family: Her beloved children Maria, Anne, and Ralph Anthony; and those that she loved as her children, Kenneth Farona, Paul Zaepfel; her treasured grandchildren Kenny & Dora Farona; her loving brothers the late Gaetano DiLemme (Antonietta), the late Carmine DiLemme (Lucia), Giovanni DiLemme (AnnaMarie), Vincenzo DiLemme (Marie), and her loving sister the late Anna DiLemme Rampini; along with her loving nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Maria Assunta loved cooking, playing the piano, singing, listening to opera, writing poetry, laughing and being with her family, and spending time in prayer. She touched the lives of many people with her smile, hospitality, warm and generous heart, and above all with her love and devotion for the Lord. Mass of Christian Burial 10 am Saturday October 6 at St. John of the Cross Parish in Euclid. Private interment. The family will receive friends at THE DiCICCO AND SONS FUNERAL HOME 5975 MAYFIELD RD.
