Mary Catherine was a customer of my business, at Hillcrest Optical for 35 years, and she was a wonderful friend , who I took pleasure in seeing the many times she was also a patient at Hillcrest Hospital. I spent my lunch breaks visiting with her, in her room, and we always had nice conversations, and laughed a lot, each time we spent time together. Sadly, I did not know she had passed away, and only found out late yesterday afternoon- too late to attend her funeral, but I will miss her very much. She was one of my favorite friends for so many years, and had a great sense of humor, and everyone loved her. Rest in peace, my dear friend. My thanks go out to her nephew who was always there for her. May you find comfort in God at this time.

The funeral was a tearful, but truly  beautiful experience.  Thank you Lord.

The funeral @ DiCicco & Sons was beautiful!  Jim was a perfect host and made everything run smoothly.  Father Conrad Selnik shared a WONDERFUL and personal service to a group of many friends and family of Mary Catherine.  His second service @ the beautiful mosuleum @ Knollwood Cemetery was the perfect preparation for her burial.  The room was heated and had plenty chairs set up.  The acoustics in the cathedral-like hall were marvelous for Father Selnik's well-delivered reunion message. Frank & I loved everything!  The party held across the street in Mary Catherine's apartment was a warm gathering of her neighbors, Fr. Selnik, Nephews and neices.  We enjoyed a party tray, cookies and beverages.  Everything was set up perfectly and there were a perfect number of guests in attendance.  All to honor our beloved party-lover Mary Catherine.  Lots of love was flowing.  Thank you all for sharing the day with us and many special times with our beloved aunt.  You are all very dear people.  XO

It has been many years since our mothers  gave us many memories. The traveling they did, the many card games that they would argue over a dime.We had many laughs and tears. Mary Catherine leaves a big void in our lives, but taught us so much while she was here.  She was able to stay up until this year in Wyngate Apt. with her wonderful friends, as she wanted.  Her last week she was still asking for her beloved son Johnny, who died in his late teens.  Even though she had missed him almost all her adult life, she managed her sorrow and reached out to others with a cheerful attitude.  God please help us all thank You for our children and live cheerful and loving lives.  May You reunite Mary Catherine, Johnny & Harold as the family you intended. Amen

She is in a better place. Sorry to see her pass though. We will always remember her in our prayers.
