Thomas Harris, age 90. Beloved husband of the late Maria (nee Nuti) for 65 years, dearest father of John Harris and Tami Gephart (Tom); loving grandfather of Trevor and Connor Ward; dear brother of Donald (deceased) (Carole); Uncle Tom to many. Growing up in Cleveland, Tom worked as a cement finisher with his grandfather while in his early teens. He apprenticed as a tool and die maker before building his own shop on 41st Street in Cleveland and worked for 60 years. In 1972 he bought his first boat "TJ" with son John, and fished often with brother Don and nephew Donny. He loved boating with his son John and grandson Connor. He had a passion for building and fixing things. He built his own home, helped with his son John's home, helped his grandson Trevor fix up his home, and built his shops in Mentor along with his brothers-in-law Silvano (Isola) and Renato (MaryLou). He did not mind being dirty and greasy while he fixed cars and worked with all kinds of tools. He loved his family and took his nieces and nephews camping often. He would often sleep in the car instead of the tent, since he always said it smelled funny in the tent with all those kids. He enjoyed working on puzzles and model trains. He helped anyone who needed it and loved to joke and tease. His favorite saying was "if money can fix it it's not a problem". Mass of Christian Burial 12 Noon Saturday January 18 at St. Paschal Baylon Church. Entombment All Souls Cemetery. The family will receive friends at THE DICICCO AND SONS FUNERAL HOME 5975 MAYFIELD ROAD MAYFIELD HEIGHTS (at Lander) Saturday morning 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
