She leaves a sister, Arlene Yedid and her husband Harry and a brother Jack Miller and wife Ilana; and nieces Talya Kelly, Adina Miller and Lillian Vickers; nephews Robert Miller and wife Sarah, and Ari Miller and wife Melissa; great nephews Aaron Vickers, Noah Miller, and Dylan, Jordan and Logan Miller; and great niece Rebecca Miller.
Barbara grew up in Rome, New York and moved to Miami, Florida when she was 14. Miami was a big change from the small town of Rome. She attended Shenandoah Junior High and Miami Senior High School, where she showed high academic achievement. She worked for the city of Miami as a key-punch operator and later at the for Victor Posner, a major developer on Miami Beach.
She was a generous person who cared deeply for her family. Fifteen years ago, Barbara had a rare form of lymphoma. Throughout the agonies of a stem cell transplant, chemotherapy and radiation, she exhibited great courage and calmness. She remained cancer free until the time of her death.
Graveside memorial services will take place on Sunday, December 23rd 11AM at Mount Nebo, 5505 NW 3rd St Miami. Donations may be made to NAMI or the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society.
