It is with great sadness that the family of Estelle Kfare announces her passing on October 4, 2018 at the age of 88. She was born on October 9, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York to Fanny and Harry Rabinowitz.
Estelle, fondly known by her family as Nanny, will be sadly missed by her children, Joanne Marsh and Sharon Lee Tipaldi. She will be forever loved by her 6 grandchildren , Elizabeth Hilary Arcos, Aaron Jacob Vazquez, Stefani Ashley Villasana, Rebecca Michelle Wilkotz, Heather Alicia Marsh, Jason Andrew Wilkotz. Her great grandchildren, Tré Angel Vazquez, Devon Walker Vazquez, and Tye Jacob Vazquez will fondly remember and miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fanny and Harry Rabinowitz, as well as her daughter, Cynthia Gail Wilkotz.
One of Estelle’s passions was volunteering. Many years were spent dedicating her time to various organizations, including the Pembroke Pines Police Department, Hollybrook Administration Office, and Board of Directors at Hollybrook Tennis Club. During her time with Citizens on Patrol, she enjoyed making friends with fellow volunteers and officers, passing out candy to children on Halloween, protecting the community by distributing parking tickets (including ticketing her son-in-law, unknowingly), and helping set up the Pines Night Out. Many of her days and nights were dedicated to reviewing and transcribing recipes for the publication of the Hadassah Cookbook. In her spare time, she enjoyed working on puzzles, reading, and watching soap operas and musicals. Estelle was renowned for her knitting and needlepoint skills, which she passed on to her daughters. Her friends and family will particularly miss her unique taste in clothing. Estelle was always known to wear bright, playful colors and patterns, and none of us will be able to look at a fluff ball without thinking of her and smiling.
A funeral service in memory of Estelle will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm, at the Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapel, 5900 SW 77th Ave Miami, Florida 33143 with Rabbi Rachelle Nelson officiating. Shiva will follow the service and continue through Tuesday, October 9, at Joanne Marsh’s apartment. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in mourning her passing and remembering the wonderful life she had.
