Merwitzer, Helen Kramer passed away peacefully in her home on April 3rd, 2018 in Bal Harbour FL surrounded by her family that adored her. Born September 24, 1916 in Pittsburgh, PA. Helen was the loving wife of Charles (pre-deceased) and mother to son Bill (pre-deceased) (Eydie), son Bob (Belle), and daughter Marjorie Rudolph (pre-deceased) (Allan) of Boynton Beach. She was surrounded with love from her grandchildren Craig Merwitzer (Roseann), Kenneth Merwitzer (Tracie), Randi Silverberg (Stephen), Jimmy Katz (Heather), Kirbee Stern (Jeff), Laura Del Carlo (Dominic), Amie Mouneimne (Karim). Helen loved spending time with her eleven grandchildren and her nieces and nephews were also important to her. Helen was a regal and glamorous woman who was the Perle Mesta of her age. Helen loved to plan glitzy parties and was a hostess with the mostest. Helen was always in fashion with her stylish clothes and leopard sunglasses. Helen loved her old movies, and was an avid reader. Helen's card games, particularly the game "pan" were of utmost importance. We knew she was sick when she missed her beauty shop appointment. Helen believed in supporting causes that were close to her heart. She and Chuck were giving and compassionate members of the community. They were founders at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Cancer Lifeline as well as being a founder at Miami Jewish Health Systems (formerly Douglas Gardens). There are too many others to list. She will be missed for her generosity and her keen sense of humor, but never forgotten. The family is thankful to Elizabeth Caballero for the loving care and devotion that she gave to our mother and grandmother. Donations in Helen's memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the City of Hope. Services will be held on Thursday April 5 at 2pm at Lakeside Memorial Park 10301 NW 25th St, Miami
